​Marius Iliescu is an award-winning Romanian-born actor, director, producer, and screenwriter with more than 30 years of experience in theater and film. Classically trained in the Stanislavski tradition, his work is known for its emotional authenticity and cinematic storytelling.

A Golden Bear Award-winning director, Marius has performed internationally, including at New York's Lincoln Center Festival, and holds advanced degrees in directing, dance performance, and choreography. Since joining Ave Fenix Pictures, he has starred in, produced, and directed acclaimed independent films including Adios Vaya Con Dios, Arise From Darkness, Black Ruby, and Where Sweet Dreams Die.

As a director, Marius is dedicated to drawing truthful, emotionally powerful performances by helping actors connect deeply with their characters and one another. His approach combines the discipline of European theater with the visual language of contemporary independent cinema.
